Chino Hills PONY Baseball Important Message Regarding COVID-19

Chino Hills Pony Baseball (CHPB) Families,

These are unprecedented times and the health and safety of our players, families and volunteers is of the upmost importance to CHPB.

Due to recent events and the growing concerns surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and in accordance with guidance from our PONY regional directors, great precautions are being taken by our league to limit the exposure to all types of viruses, especially the coronavirus within our community.

Effective Immediately, CHPB is suspending games and practices until April 1.  The league board members will use this time to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.  Extending our season until the end of May is a possibility and we will look at all options during this period.  CHPB will continue to undertake the precautions and best practices recommended by public health experts.

Thank you,

Nick Tully

CHPB, League President

PONY National Age Changes

CHPB Age Changes 2018

Change Birth Date cut-off to August 31 (from April 30).

Why:  PONY National is changing the birthday cut-off from April 30th to August 31st.  This rule change goes into effect January 1st of 2018.  However, Chino Hills PONY Baseball will implement this change for the 2017 Fall Ball Season, as Fall Baseball is designed to be a developmental season that prepares players for the level and rules they intend to play in the Spring Season.  That means, several players may skip a level within our league for one season.  As PONY National is the governing body, many leagues have or will be following suit and adjusting their age cut-off as well.  This age cut-off better aligns with the completion of the Spring Season (All-stars) and the school cut-off ages as well.  Simply said, those players with summer birthdays will become the younger players on the team vs. the older ones.  Below is our age chart for 2017 Fall Ball with reflected changes.
